Attracted by the exceptional potential of synthetic materials and interested in its extreme versatility, qualities of transparency and capabilities to take various forms and colours, around the early Sixties Augusto Betti began creating the series “semisfere (half-spheres)” using the bottom of demijohns as a mold.
Once hung, these art pieces project colored moving images on the walls “in these works the most important part is the reflection, which varies continuously. The shape is concave, open to any possibilities and arrangements”.
In the 1990s Betti started once again the production of the same series.
